How to make a 3D-animated movie for a fraction of the traditional US budget and getting it sold in more than 40 countries.
Danish director Thomas Borch Nielsen and co-director Daniel Silwerfeldt will reveal how they built an animation feature film studio in an apartment in Copenhagen, enabling them to do the whole movie in-house. The directors will discuss the process from how to pitch the idea and getting the financing to storyboard, design, animation and rendering. They will mix nerdy pipeline details with funny anecdotes about getting the rights to the disco tunes – and of course all the mistakes they made. All spiced up with lots of clips from the movie and behind the scenes. And not least – disco music...
